Remove My Data

How to request removal, suppression or account deletion from DarwinFind.

Important

DarwinFind can remove information from its own reports and suppress matching information from future reports. We cannot remove the original information from websites, search engines, public records or archives that we do not control.

Key points

  • Email support@darwinfind.com with the subject “Data removal request.”
  • Identify the result and provide enough information to distinguish you from namesakes.
  • We may request proportionate proof that you are the person concerned or their authorized representative.
  • Requests are reviewed without charge and handled within the period required by applicable law.

1. Who may submit a request

A request may be submitted by the person the information concerns or by an authorized representative, parent or legal guardian where permitted by law. We may require evidence of the representative’s authority and may contact the person directly to confirm the request.

2. What you may request

  • Removal of identified findings about you from reports stored by DarwinFind.
  • Suppression of matching identifiers so the same information is not returned in future DarwinFind reports where reasonably feasible.
  • Correction of inaccurate account information or report context controlled by DarwinFind.
  • Deletion of your DarwinFind account, saved searches and reports, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Access to or a copy of personal data where that right applies in your jurisdiction.

3. What DarwinFind cannot remove

DarwinFind organizes information found in public sources; it does not own most source content. Removing a result from DarwinFind does not delete or de-index the original page, profile, post, directory entry, public record, search-engine cache or archive. You must contact the relevant source or platform to remove information there.

We cannot guarantee that information will never reappear if a third party republishes it, a source changes its URL or identifying details are materially different. You may send a new request if suppressed information reappears.

4. How to submit a removal request

Email support@darwinfind.com with the subject “Data removal request.” To help us locate the correct material and avoid removing a namesake’s information, include:

  • your full name and any name variants shown in the result;
  • the country, city, username or other non-sensitive detail needed to distinguish the record;
  • links, report references or screenshots showing the specific result;
  • the action you want us to take — removal, suppression, correction or account deletion; and
  • if acting for another person, evidence that you are authorized to do so.

5. Identity verification

To protect people from fraudulent deletion or unauthorized access, we may ask for proportionate verification. Whenever possible, verify control through an email address or public profile already associated with the result. If an identity document is genuinely necessary, you should mask the document number, signature, photo and other details not needed for verification.

Verification material is used only to evaluate the request, protect the person concerned and document compliance. We delete or restrict it when no longer reasonably necessary, subject to legal obligations.

6. What happens next

We will acknowledge the request and respond within the period required by applicable law. We may ask for clarification if the request does not identify the relevant information or if we cannot reasonably verify authority. Complex or numerous requests may require an extension where law allows; if so, we will explain the delay.

Valid requests are handled without charge. Where permitted by law, we may decline or charge a reasonable fee for requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, repetitive, fraudulent or intended to remove information about someone else without authority. We will explain any denial and available appeal or complaint options.

7. Suppression records and legal exceptions

To keep removed material from reappearing, we may retain a minimal suppression record, such as a one-way identifier or limited matching information. We may also retain data necessary to comply with law, maintain tax and transaction records, prevent fraud or abuse, protect safety, resolve disputes, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

These limited exceptions do not permit ordinary reuse of removed report content.

8. Account deletion and subscriptions

Account deletion removes account content controlled by DarwinFind, subject to the exceptions above. It may not automatically cancel a subscription administered by a payment provider or app store. Cancel the subscription first using the billing controls described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

9. Removing data at the original source

For the broadest removal, contact the website, platform, directory, search engine or public authority that hosts the original information. Adjust privacy settings where available and request de-indexing from search engines where applicable. Once a source removes or restricts the content, it may take time for indexes and cached references to update.

10. Complaints and appeals

If you disagree with our response, reply to support@darwinfind.com and ask for a review. Depending on your location, you may also complain to your data-protection or consumer-protection authority. We encourage you to let us address the concern first, but doing so does not waive your statutory rights.
